Kenny Durham is the truth.
Just got through my second listening of an April 16, 1967 live performance. Sort of unheralded but the cat had a lot of things going on.
Kenny Dorham is one of the most overlooked jazz musicians, and one of the.most unknown trumpet players.....perhaps born a bit too late? There is little, if any, of his recordings that is not top notch,.and.he.often recorded.with great musicians.....
I think he was a victim of the trumpet landscape being full of great and highly exposed trumpeters during that time. IMO, he was at par with a front trumpeters of the day.
